User accounts

 Yes, I know it is annoying to be typing username and password every time, but it is absolutely necessary, any equipment, including domestic use PC should have a password created for each user.

To deal with so many passwords I recommend them; create a secure, master password of at least 8 characters, including capital letters and numbers, this password will be memorized, do not write it down anywhere or share with anyone for any reason. This master password will be used with your primary email account and other important, additional create in your primary email account, a file with all other users and passwords of all other accounts that handle.

In a home PC used by several people, it is good and advisable to create a user account for each one, this helps each person organize their things as they want; your wallpaper, your favorite programs, your favorites in the browser. Another advantage is security; in the PC administration and in the data handling; since for example a children are created a limited account, this prevents them from damaging the system, also prevents them from accessing the data of the other accounts.

In a corporate PC or workstation, it is essential to manage independent session and users for each employee, there are different options to implement this, depending on the size of the company and the importance of computer systems in the operation and administration of the company . Basic Steemit Guide

  Steemit is a social network that works with the Steem platform, where everyone gets paid for creating and vote for a publications.

It also has the common activities of any social network, such as content sharing, meeting new people, finding friends, follow other users with tastes and activities that you like and they can also follow you back and vote for your content.

Understanding Basic Concepts

What is the Steem platform?

It is a technological system, based on their own blockchain, created by Ned Scott and Dan Larimer in 2016. ( you can check their accounts here: “@ned”“@dan” , you can see your “WhitePaper ”  for more information.

Currently this platform is composed of this:

Steemit:

(https://steemit.com): is the social network we will work with. You can create your own content, like articles in a magazine or newspaper, publish them and let others read and review, all online. Users can also vote your work, which increases your notoriety.

Steemitwallet:

(https://steemitwallet.com): is a digital wallet, where you receive and check your earned digital currency, make transfers from / to other users and friends inside and outside Steemit, power up / down STEEM Power and more.

STEEM:

It is the cryptocurrency generated as countervalue of the work done on the platform. It is used as a means of payment and exchange inside and outside the platform for all the work and content you publish. You can see its current value and get more information in “CoinMarketCap” .

Steem Dollars (SBD):

It is a cryptocurrency that maintains parity with the US Dollar, with very small fluctuations to its value in regard to the dollar. It is also used as a means of payment and exchange inside and outside the Steemit platform, but it is designed to save the value of the investment for the users.
They can see their current value and obtain more information in“CoinMarketCap” .

STEEM Power (SP):

is a currency for internal use only. It's more of a cryptoactive that represents the influence and value of the usage of the platform. Represents how much influence a user has in the media with his readers. In practice this affects our voting value and the reward or payment you receive when you vote for your publication. Although,you can switch to STEEM, in a long-term transaction, you can also buy SP through STEEM immediately through a process called "Power UP".

Smart Media Token (SMT):

is a native cryptoactive to the Steem blockchain that a third party can use to configure their own custom token, more information on “steem.com” .

Other applications based on Steem's blockchain are: eSteem, DTube, Utopian and Steem Monsters.

My Steemit account

The Steemit user account manages several passwords:

• The Main One (Master Password / Owner): there is no way to recover it if you lose it. When lost,you lose the account, so it is very important to keep it in several safe places. Also, you should not give it or use it in third-party applications. For that better use other passwords.


• PUBLISHING (posting): The posting password is used to log in, post and vote articles and publications. If you join a curation team, this is the password you must give to vote for yourself, not the Master Password.


• ACTIVE (active): The active password is used to make transfers of currency and place purchase or sale orders in the internal market. For example, when making transactions with "SteemConnect", this is the password you must give


• MEMO: The memo password is used to create and read memos.

Another important topic is to keep an updated profile picture; it is no good to use objects or icons as your avatar. To update your profile picture go to "Settings" at the top right and there you can upload the appropriate image.

Publishing content

Steemit is open to any type of content. There are users who write about everything and those that write about a certain topic. For cartoonist, painter and plastic artist, Steemit is a great help to show your talent to the whole world, publish your illustrations, drawings or paintings with a brief explanation of its content or what inspired you to make that work.

For musicians, show your work or your cover through a video, you can use YouTube or another, but I highly recommend that you use DTube (https://d.tube/), for the ease and monetization of your videos using your same Steemit account.

For all educators, place the knowledge on your blog to teach others

If you use content from others, make sure you have the appropriate permissions and do not violate copyright, this includes the images that you publish, if you use photos and / or images in the public domain indicates the source, a good option is “pixabay” 

Another important aspect is the labels, the labels are used as in the other social networks to sort and filter the content, in Steemit you can use up to 5 labels for each publication, the first is the main one and can not be changed later. if the publication is related to photos, images, illustrations, drawing or painting; always use the "photography" tag and if your publication includes a video, always use the "dtube" tag

Using the Internet on a public computer

 We all know the importance of the internet in our lives. with its many uses, such as obtaining information, communicating with others and keeping up with our affairs via social media, calendar apps, websites and such.

Sometimes we use a public PC, a friend´s PC, a family friend´s PC or one in a cyber cafe to connect to the Internet when we don´t have a computer of our own and are forced to use a borrowed one. In cases like these, it is important to use a private Internet browser window to work in a manner in which cookies, log-in data, personal info and much more does not get left behind in a foreign computer, open to strangers scrutiny, and more. There are even more perks to this way of work:

• Reduces the risk of unwanted extensions and / or applications stealing our private information.
• On-line accounts cannot be reopened by mistake or carelessness because the password won't be saved in the browser for further use by everyone.
• Your work won´t be stored in the local Drive, unless you download the file or mark a website you have visited as a Favorite.
• You cannot interfere with the open and / or saved accounts of the person who lends you their PC.

To open a private or incognito window in Google Chrome, click on the icon in the top far right, an icon which shows three dots on top of each other. Then click on the “Open Private Window Browser” See image below:

A new private window will be opened, as shown in the following image:

Now, all future tabs and windows you open here will also be private and will not be recorded in the browser´s History, cookies won´t be recorded and personal info like usernames and passwords for accounts and social media will not be recorded either for easy access to them.

For other browsers, like Safari or Opera, including mobile versions of each one, there is the "new private window" option or "new incognito window". You can look it up in the Configuration on the browser window at the top far-right icon. It´s a drop-down menu in mobile versions.

This may be very basic information to most people, but there are many out there clueless to this particular perk to protect your privacy in public computers.

Guia básica sobre Steemit

  Steemit es una red social que pertenece a la plataforma de Steem.

En Steemit se hacen las actividades comunes de cualquier red social como; compartir contenido, conocer personas, encontrar amigos, seguir a otros usuarios y que te sigan, expresar tu gusto o voto por una publicación, comentar publicaciones de interés, etc. Steemit tiene un gran adicional y es que podemos ganar dinero mientras la utilizamos, pero espera, tiene su complejidad y requiere dedicarle algo de tiempo, conocer cómo funciona te dará una mejor oportunidad de triunfar.

Entendiendo algunos conceptos básicos

Que es la plataforma de Steem ?

Es un sistema tecnológico basado en una blockchain propia, creada por Ned Scott @ned (https://steemit.com/@ned) y Dan Larimer @dan(https://steemit.com/@dan) en el año 2016, aquí (https://steem.com/SteemWhitePaper.pdf) pueden ver su “WhitePaper” (en inglés) para ampliar la información.

Esta plataforma está compuesta por:

Steemit (https://steemit.com): es la red social en la cual estamos participando.

Steemitwallet (https://steemitwallet.com): es una billetera digital, donde recibes y guardas el dinero ganado, realizas transferencias desde / hacia otros usuarios y amigos dentro y fuera de Steemit, power up / down STEEM Power y mas.

STEEM: Es una criptomoneda la cual se genera como respaldo al trabajo realizado en la plataforma, se utiliza como medio de pago e intercambio dentro y fuera de la plataforma, pueden ver su valor actual y obtener más información en “CoinMarketCap” .

Steem Dollars (SBD): Es una criptomoneda la cual se se mantiene con una valor de paridad con el US$ (fluctúa poco), también se utiliza como medio de pago e intercambio dentro y fuera de la plataforma, pero está pensada para mantener el valor de la inversión de los usuarios, pueden ver su valor actual y obtener más información en “CoinMarketCap” .

STEEM Power (SP): es una moneda de uso interno, más bien un cripto activo que viene representando un valor de poder sobre el uso en la red, representa cuánta influencia tiene un usuario. En la práctica esto afecta nuestro valor de voto y la recompensa que recibes cuando votan tu publicación. Aunque se puede cambiar a STEEM, en una transacción de largo plazo, también se puede comprar SP mediante STEEM de manera inmediata mediante un proceso llamado “Power UP”, es importante mantener por lo menos unos 50 SP en nuestra cuenta como mínimo.

Smart Media Token (SMT): es un cripto activo nativo de la blockchain de Steem que un tercero puede utilizar para configurar su propio token personalizado, más información en steem.com(https://smt.steem.com/).

Otras aplicaciones basadas en la blockchain de Steem, como son; eSteem, DTube, Utopian y Steem Monsters.

Mi cuenta de Steemit

La cuenta de usuario de steemit maneja varias contraseñas, la principal (Master Password / owner ) no hay manera de recuperarla si la pierdes, pierdes la cuenta, por esto es muy importante guardarla en varios lugares seguros, además no debería de darla o utilizarla en ningún tipo de aplicaciones de terceros, para eso están las otras contraseñas;

PUBLICANDO (posting): La contraseña de posteado se usa para postear y para votar, si te unes a algun equipo de curación esta es la contraseña que debes dar para que voten por ti, nunca la principal.

ACTIVO (active): La contraseña activa se usa para hacer transferencias y poner órdenes de compra o venta en el mercado interno, al realizar transacciones con “SteemConnect” por ejemplo esta es la contraseña que debes dar.

MEMO: La contraseña memo se usa para crear y leer memos

Importante: estas contraseñas (posting,active,memo) tienes 2 valores, el correspondiente a la clave privada es la contraseña como tal.

De mi serie “Tips informáticos para todos” escribí un articulo referente al manejo de las cuentas de usuarios y las contraseñas, recomiendo su lectura: "Cuentas de usuarios" .

Otro aspecto importante, es colocar una foto de tu cara y actualizada como foto de perfil, no está bien colocar objetos o cosas. Para actualizar tu foto de perfil ve a “Configuración” arriba a la derecha y allí subes la imagen apropiada.

Publicando contenido

Steemit está abierto a cualquier tipo de contenido, hay usuarios que escriben de todo, inclusive hay muchos que lo que hacen es traducir al español obras y/o artículos de otros, a mi en lo particular me parece mejor seleccionar uno o varios temas el cual uno domine, relacionados con tu trabajo, hobby o tema de interés y publicar contenido original, creado por ti.

Para los artistas plásticos y/o aficionados al dibujo en todas sus formas, Steemit es de gran ayuda para mostrar tu talento al mundo entero, publica tus ilustraciones, dibujos o pinturas con una breve explicación de su contenido o lo que te inspiro a realizar esa obra.

Para los músicos, muestra tu obra o tu cover a través de un video, puedes utilizar youtube u otro, pero yo recomiendo encarecidamente que utilices DTube (https://d.tube/), para que apoyes la plataforma Steem, por la facilidad y monetización de tus videos utilizando tu misma cuenta de Steemit.

Para los educadores en todas las áreas, desde la misma música, la educación infantil hasta la medicina, enseña a los demás, tanto a estudiantes, profesionales u usuario final tus conocimientos.

Si utilizas contenido de otros, asegurate de tener los permisos correspondiente y de no violar los derechos de autor, esto incluye las imágenes que publicas, si utilizas fotos y/o imágenes de dominio público indica la fuente, una buena opción es “pixabay” (https://pixabay.com/es/)

Otro aspecto importante a tomar en cuenta son las etiquetas, las etiquetas se utilizan al igual que en la otras redes sociales para ordenar y filtrar el contenido, en Steemit se utilizan hasta 5 etiquetas por cada publicación, la primera es la principal y no puede cambiarse luego. Para nosotros los usuarios de habla hispana y/o para los contenidos en español la primera etiqueta debería ser siempre “spanish”, luego coloca una o dos etiquetas máximo para la curación, esto para que un equipo de curación evalúe tus artículos y te vote, ayudándote a crecer.

Para los contenidos en español el más utilizado es el equipo de cervantes, para ello debes colocar como segunda etiqueta “cervantes” y tercera etiqueta la relacionada al tema de cervante al cual corresponde, estos temas actualmente son;
vidapersonal, gentenueva, arte, fotografia, literatura, concursos, manualidades, tutoriales, educacion, steemit, criptomonedas, economia, politica, sociedad, cultura, historia, humor, cine, tecnologia, videos, videojuegos, viajes, filosofia, derechos-humanos, religion, noticias, relatoseroticos, nsfw, lgbti, ciencia, medicina,
psicologia, comida, saludybelleza, deporte, naturaleza, animales, ingenieria, marketing, emprendimiento, curiosidades, reflexiones, cervantes-cambio-vida, meet-ups y

Para la cuarta y quinta etiqueta busquen directamente en Steemit las que se relacionen con el contenido de la publicación y que sea de la más utilizada, pueden buscar desde este link (https://steemit.com/tags), el cual facilita el proceso, ya que te muestra la cantidad de publicaciones, comentarios y pagos recibido por cada etiqueta.

Otro aspecto importante es que si la publicación está relacionada con fotos, imágenes, ilustraciones, dibujo o pintura; utiliza siempre la etiqueta “photography” y si tu publicación incluye un video utiliza siempre la etiqueta “dtube”

Por último y no menos importante, te recomiendo que no utilices la etiqueta con el nombre de tu país, al menos que el contenido tenga que ver de modo exclusivo con él.

Promocionando tus publicaciones

Fuera de Steemit la mejor manera de promocionar nuestras publicaciones es a través de las redes sociales, hablándole a tus amigos sobre Steemit e invitándolo a que se unan y te sigan. Dentro de Steemit una opción es votando y comentando las publicaciones de los mismos temas que los tuyos, y siguiendo a estas personas. Otra opción es publicando el enlace de tu publicación en los chat de discord de los equipos de curación y otros dispuestos para realizar promociones, a continuación les dejo los que yo utilizo:

Importante:

recuerden que deben crear su usuario en “discord”, si ya no tienen uno, esto una sola vez, con el mismo usuario luego se unen a cada servidor de los diferentes equipos. El el chat de “steem” también deben crear una cuenta”

Modo de operación

Steemit tiene un modo de operación bastante complejo, en lo que respecta a las votaciones, llamado “upvote”, ganar votos, ganar curación, reputación y finalmente todo eso se convierte en ganancia.

Que debemos hacer ?

• Publica 2 o 3 artículos por semana al comienzo, luego con el tiempo, cuanto tengas bastantes seguidores y tus artículos sean vistos y votados por muchas personas lo ideal es publicar uno por día, recuerda que siempre debes mantener la calidad.


• Lee y comenta todos los días, el contenido relevante para ti.


• Vota la publicación que consideres buena.


• Comenta y vota los comentarios dejados en tu publicación.


• Puedes participar en los concursos de Steemit para ganar STEEM y SBD, ver la etiqueta de "contest" aquí https://steemit.com/trending/contest

Es el proceso de votar, dar o recibir un voto, indica que me gusta, tanto la publicación como los comentarios pueden ser votados. Los votos o upvote tienen un valor, este valor para ambos casos (dar o recibir), depende de las siguientes variables:

Vota cuando la publicación tenga al menos 20 minutos publicados, mejor después de 30 minutos.

Si eres uno de los primeros 30 en votar, recibirás una mayor recompensa.

Cuanto mayor sea tu STEEM Power, mayor será la recompensa, este es tu peso de voto

Curación y reputación.

La curación en modo general, es el proceso principal por el cual tu cuenta gana reputación, tu reputación se muestra en el lado derecho de su nombre, ese misterioso numerito acompaña siempre el nombre de tu cuenta.

Esto sucede cuando otras cuentas votan tu publicación, según el poder de voto y la reputación de la cuenta que vota, obtendrás un menor o mayor valor. Otras variables que aumentan tu reputación son:

• total de votos recibidos
• total de votos dados
• total de comentarios realizados

Finalmente, quiero destacar que las publicaciones de las cuentas con mayor reputación son más visibles en la red de steemit.

Cómo obtener soporte

Puede utilizar el canal de ayuda del chat de la plataforma, “steem-help" , lean bien las indicaciones antes, pueden preguntar en español pero la mayoría de las preguntas y respuestas están en inglés. También pueden preguntar en el canal "general" y/o "spanish", seguramente algún usuario de la comunidad te ayudará.

Pueden consultar una especie de FAQ de preguntas y respuestas con la etiqueta “help" aunque algunos usuarios utilizan esta etiqueta para publicar sobre el tema help, está en varios idiomas y ordenado por publicación pueden buscar por palabra clave o frase de error o mensaje del sistema, su requerimiento. Si no encuentran la respuesta, formulen la pregunta en una publicación en Steemit con la etiqueta “help” solamente.

Una buena opción es preguntar en el chat de Cervantes, allí de seguro siempre encontrarán gente dispuesta a ayudar, utilicen el canal “#general-no-post" y/o “#dudas" 

Y por último, buscar en Google como es costumbre.
